I {Heart} you!

Here is a cute Valentine's display banner I made using my accucut pennants die, Stampin up Pefect pennants die and Tim Holtz mini flourish die. It is free standing, but could easliy be turned into a hanging banner. I just love how it turned out. You can falod it up to store away for next year too!

I used Love Letters Designer series paper, which Stampin Up recently had on their clearance rack. I matted it with black cardstock and then embelished each section.

The heart in this section is from glitter paper.

The letter are also from Stampin Up.

This was fun and quick to make. You can get these base pennant shapes from me to make your own Valentines banner for someone you love! I also have two other banner shapes, a triangular and a rounded edged.

Check out my store or contact me by e-mail.

Pop Up Gift Card

I was thinking of ways I can get more from my Accucut dies and this idea popped into my head. I could use the matt die cut from the gift card die to create a gift card holder for any project. In this case a - pop up gift card - card.

I added an inside matt to the card base, and cut four slits in it and folded them opposite to the center fold so they popped out! Then I added my die cut gift card holder matt. to the pop out pieces.

and voila! pop up gift card holder.

You can see the video for this project, which includes a picture slide show of how it is assembled, below.

And More Boxes!

Favor boxes are so fun to make...here is a sampling of the boxes I have available. Most are embellished for weddings but they can be used for birthdays, anniversaries, shower, basically any celebration. Create labels with the couples name and or date, use as placesetting markers with guests names on them, or just a fun way to give a small treat.

This box is made using the same die as the box below, just one less side. I embossed the center section to add interest.

This is called box-candy. I used a border punch on the edges.

New Favor Boxes Available!

I bought several new favor box dies from Accucut. These are great for Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
The one pictured above is a self closing box. I used designer paper to create it and stamped the tag with a similar designed stamp. It looks like it is from the paper but it isn't. These are very fast to put together and require no adhesive.

This one is a cake slice box. it is the largest of the boxes. I added some border punched trim to the upper edge to look like icing. and then wrapped the box with some satin ribbon and added a elegant bow. Simple yet beautiful!

This is a mini french fry box. The box itself is quite plain, but I love how it turned out. I used Designer paper for the box and added some satin ribbon. The label is on dimensionals and of course a bit or floral embelishments add a finbal touch to this favor box. This ended up being my favorite in the end.

This last box is called a Bon Bon box. It is simple but adorable. This was my favorite until I did the mini french fry box. Okay lets face it, they are all just adorable.

So, if you are in need of favor boxes, check out my store at http://dcands.ca. Prices aren't posted yet but contact me and we can get pricing worked out.
P.S. Large orders will require longer pre -order times.

Advent Calendar Wreath

I got a new Accucut die called Box-Bon Bon. Shortly after it arrived Accucut posted a contest and Amanda suggested i use it to make something for the contest. It is a pinnovation die and there aren't many videos in that section yet. But I never used it that way. I created 25 boxes and turned them into a wreath that is used as an advent calendar. I used Graphics 45 Christmas paper and feel it turned out awesome!
Graphics 45 thought so too and it won a Randon Crafts of Christmas prize from them. I haven't received the prize yet but will let you kow what it was when it arrives....thank you Graphics 45, I love your products.
I won't know if it has won the Accucut contest until the New Year but I will let you know if it does.
You can view the video below.
