Creativity With Punch Boards

We R Memory Keepers has come out with four new punch boards, and I was able to play around with a few today. I made the following gift bags. I try to think outside the box and made them bigger than instructions for the board allows.
The first is one that is 7" wide. You can actually make it as wide as 9 1/2" using two pieces of 12 x 12 cardstock. I am hoping to get a tutorial on YouTube to show you how.

This is the smallest width that the board instructions allow for. I am going to see if I can make a smaller one...

This is another 7" wide one but is not as tall. I used mostly Graphics 45 papers.

You can see there is quite a difference between the sizes, so you can make a good variety of bag sizes using this punch board. Making homemade packaging for gifts is just too fun.

Here I used the candy box punch board but this box is much larger than the directions allow for. This used a full size 12 x 12 paper.

And here I tried Bona's tutorial on making a double pillow box... as she states it is a little tricky but looks adorable when finished.

These punch boards are so fun and easy to use. There are lots of fun tutorials on YouTube as well.
I can see these will be a great addition to the studio.

Thanks for checking me out today,
Hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas
and
A Happy New Year
if I don't get to post again before hand.

Happy Birthday Dear Deer!

Troy's grandmother had a birthday recently and she is in a home. We went to visit her one evening and there were so many deer in the yard eating from the bird feeders and they weren't scared away from our presence at all. That is what the inspiration is for this card.

The scene is made using sponges of a light blue and a green ink on the die cut mat. I used a memory box die for the mat. I them used three tres memory box die and cut one apart from the three. I inked the edges for a bit of dimension. I then die cut a leaping deer, also Memory Box die. I tucked him behind the one tree just a bit. I then tied a ribbon around the mat before adhering to card front using pop ups. I then attached the sentiment on a fishtail banner curving slightly by running it over the edge of my scissors.I then decised toa dd some die cut grass fro a My Favorite Things die.
I really like how the scene turned out. This would also make a great card for a guy who likes to hunt or just likes nature.
