Paper Cubed Shadow Box Challenge

Happy National Scrapbook Day everyone! Today is also special for another reason. It is also the first time I am participating in the Paper Cubed Challenge as one of their new Design Team members. The challenge was to create a Shadow Box. This is what I came up with.

I colored the box with some vintage photo and walnut stain distress inks. I then took a gold dauber and added some highlight to the edges. I wanted to be sure the frame had lots of depth. The very back of the inside of the box is covered with a piece of vintage sheet music that the edges have been distressed. I then stamped a flourish in Peeled Paint distress ink in the lower left corner.

I added some homemade flowers to the lower inside right corner. They are attached on top of a bit of cheesecloth and then some feathers are tucked in as well. These are actually some of the flowers my daughter made here. She was so pleased I used them on this project.

A friend has this great leaf stem die and she cut me out a bunch as a favor. I glimmer misted them with a green and them shaded one side with peeled paint distress ink. I also added some bling to the branch part.

I colored my bird with watercolor crayons using chocolate, more mustard and ruby red. The added glossy accents to the whole bird. Once dry I attached him to the cage.

I die cut this frame out of a Stampin Up die. I then edged with vintage photo and stamped a damask also in vintage photo. Then I chose a sentiment and stamped it in black. I used crackle accents to highlight the letters. The whole sentiment is on dimensionals.

The same friend who die cut me the branch also die cut me some birdcages since at the time my Tim dies were not here yet. I used one for this project. I used some brushed corduroy distress crackle paint to cover the die cut and then highlighted areas with my gold dauber. I wanted the cage to appear round and not flat so I curled it a bit and then attached only the outside edges so the center was curved. I then added some fun gem bling to the cage.

I added a few other elements like faux hinges at the top and a Prima flower to the outside corner of the box. The cage also appears to be hanging from a piece of chain.

I had a great time making this project and hope you enjoy it as well.

So if you like 3D crafts check out Paper Cubed and participate in the challenge. You get a whole month to complete your project and you can have a chance to win some great goodies and don't forget to sign up as a follower so you can keep up with all the great challenges.

Shipping Charge issue fixed!

Hi Ladies,

I have to appologize for an issue that has arised due to my lack of computer savy in understanding PayPal.
I recently made my handmade flowers a for sale item, which required adding a shipping charge. Previously everything I sold was simply e-mailed to you after I received payment. Well, adding shipping somehow added shipping to everything!
I did not know this had happened and did not know how to fix it once I found out it had happened.
I have contacted PayPal and they have helped me to resolve this issue. So now only items that require actual shipping have a shipping charge attached to them.
Sorry for any inconvienence this has caused and I look foward to future business with you. I try very hard to keep, you, my customer, followers and friends happy. I hope this helps.

Thanks,

Peek into Heaven

My third oldest daughter has asked me to help her scrapbook some of her pictures. This is one of the pages we have completed so far. It is of her and her nephew. Aren't they adorable?
She chose the colors and I went to work from there. I distressed the edges with a distressing tool to add a shabby look. The next layer is torn along all the edges, distressed and inked for more shabbiness.

This is my favorite part of the whole page, this picture is just too adorable. SO I wanted the focus to be directly on it so using torn edges from the inside out , I created this double photo matt. It looks just like you have a sneak peek at Heaven.

Of Course I had to add a ticket saying just how cute they are!

Added some Prima flowers and bling to dress up the page.

And of course a place for her to journal her thought about this moment.
I love how it turned out and when she saw it she loved it too.
I hope you enjoy this peek into Heaven.
Thanks,

Another Designer License Plate

Another license plate, this one is for my oldest daughter. She is a hair Stylist so her little label says "stylist" as per her request.

She chose these beautiful colors. I think they look awesome together. I added lots of bling, again another of her requests. and an acetate butterfly. I also added a small dangling charm, but right now as I am typing wish I would have made the charm a pair of scissors. I think I will have to ask her for it back to make that small change. I forgot I had tiny scissor charms.

One of the flowers my second oldest daughter made was used on the corner as shown here. She made a whole bunch and you can see more of them in this post. I am also using some of them for my Paper Cubed project this coming month. You should check it out. It is a new challenge blog. If it sounds like fun sign up as a follower.

I have another one to show you that I made for my niece, but this is all for today. I hope you enjoyed.
Thanks,

RAK From Elaine (sillyfroghoneybee)

Just look at all these goodies I received from Elaine. Two die cut bird cages from the new Tim Holtz dies, assorted laces, and look at those fibres...they are sooo pretty. But just look at the tag...

Just look at this beautiful tag. I helped her get a stamp set she had been looking for, one I had actually been looking for as well, I ended up with two and sent her the duplicate. She sent this package to me as a thank you. Can you see that awesome textured background? She has a tutorial for how it is done if you check out her YouTube channel sillyfroghoneybee.

I am not sure which side is the front, but here is the second side to this fabulous tag. She has added my name using letter on dimensionals. There is a black embossed chandelier, some lace with pearl trim.

All I can say is wow, love it Elaine. Thank you so much.

Hope you enjoyed this little piece of artwork.

Thanks,

More Flowers by my Daughter!

Aren't these beautiful? I can't take credit for these. My daughter made them. She did an awesome job.

I love this tiny blue one.

The yellow and purple and more colors my oldest daughter loves...but still beauties!

This is my favorite, only because I love natural colors the best.

I love this one too....so pretty! Loook at the shading on this one...it is gorgeous.

My daughter is not happy with this one but I think it is pretty too.

So ladies, share some love let her know what a great job she did, and hey if she can do it so can you. The free tutorial is here.
But if you are still not up to making them yourself but really want some you can buy them here.
Thanks for looking,

April Tag Swap Tutorial

Here is the tag I made for Arlene's April tag swap. The theme was flowers/roses and the challenge was to use fabric.
I had such fun making this once the inspiration came. I am usually early with my swap but I am a bit behind this month.

You can watch me make this tag from beginning to end on Ustream on Friday April 16th Atlantic Standard time. ( GMT - 4 hours) . My channel name is NsSnowAngel.

Typically I would tell you about the making of this tag here is the post, but I will be recording the show so if you do miss it but want to know how it is made, you can catch it later.

Of course I had to use my flower. You can also learn how to make these on my channel or if that is not for you and you prefer to have them ready to use, you can also buy them from me here.

I hope the tag was worth the wait. I will ship them on Saturday after the show. I may send them rush since I am behind. I also am shipping them in a box this time because last month my flowers got a bit crushed.
Thanks,

Gift for Two of my Girls

For Easter, I made these name plates for two of my girls. They gave me ideas about what they wanted on them, and these are the result.

Sammy Jo, like orange so hers has lots of orange hues. She always is dressed gorgeous so I had to add the sentiment "Glam Girl". The rest is just random fun embellies.

Stephanie was given the nickname "step on me" by her great grandfather, when he was alive, so she opted for that name on the plate. Very few people are aloud to call her by that name. She also loves zebra stripes so there are those on the back ground. She chose greens and blues. I added some bling because she also loves to looks fabulous. and of course since the zebra striped aren't black I added a black flower.
I am working on getting my flowers ready to sell to those who want them ready made instead of having to make them. Keep an eye out for them.
Thanks for stopping by,
