January Swap Mini for Amanda!

I signed up to do my first mini album swap over at Life on the Scrap Beach and was paired up with Amanda in the UK. I asked her what colors she liked and pinks and purples was her answer, so I went through my paper stash and decided on this one, it is Raspberry Tart from Stampin Up and is retired. I wish I would have stocked up on this one cause now the ladies want to do it for a class and I don't have any more of this paper. If any of you have a pack you are willing to sell, let me know!

I made a rose on the cover using Tim Holtz's technique. He shares how to make these on his blog and there is also a YouTube video how to make them, I think Marion from A Piece of Craft does it. I also attempted to make some homemade Glimmer Mist for the leaves.

I made this page an accordion album page. You undo the ribbon closure and then open out the accordion part.

This is my favorite page, it is so very feminine and flirty. It is simply an acetate pocket with three tags, but love how it turned out.

And here is one more of the pages. The album has a total of 6 double sided pages. Below you can view the video of the entire album. It was great fun to make. Now to ship it. Shipping is expensive to the UK but that is okay, this was fun to do. I may even sign up to do another!
I hope you enjoyed this mini album preview. I have another great valentine's mini album kit for sale and will try to get that posted tomorrow.

Thanks,

Valentine Wishes class

Some fun treat holders and tags for a class I will be doing in February. There are two treat holders, One is a Top Note box the other is the triangle box I did a tutorial for a few posts ago. I also made two tags, one is a three by three note card size, and the other is made with one of the tags from the two tags die.

Thanks,

Valentine's Treat Box Tutorial

I made this treat holder a bit ago and promised a tutorial for it, well here it is. It is a video tutorial and is a bit broken up as I had to edit to get under the 10 minutes time frame YouTube allows. I may also make a picture tutorial for this but will have to wait to see how my schedule goes for the rest of the week.

I hope you enjoy it and are able to understand it enough to make some of your own.

Edited to add: The circle for the ornament die is 2" across, for those who want to make their own without the die, hope this helps.
Thanks,

Felt flower Tutorial...as Promised

A couple of posts ago I made a card that had a large die cut felt flower on the front and I promised I would share how I made it. Below is a video tutorial on how you can make your own if you have some dies and a die cutting machine. Felt is very easy to cut through and so inexpensive. You will wonder why you haven't been doing this before!
I hope you enjoy the tutorial and I hope it explains enough. You can use it for any shape that you have a die for. Flowers is just one of the most common.

Some Challenge Layouts

I am participating in the virtual crop at the Scrap Beach. The top layout is for the challenge to use no Black, Gray or white in your layout. It is a 6 x 6 page.

This one is for the next challenge, which is to use no INK except for journalling. This was a hard one as anyone who knows me, knows I love to ink everything! This is a 12 x 12 page. I almost forgot and was going to stamp journalling lines, but then used my ScorPal to emboss some lines. Can you beleive I am about 36 weeks pregnant in this photos, gotta love a black dress.

I {Heart} You Day Treat Holders

I love this mini milk carton die. I had to try it out right away. I have a cute project lined up for this die.

The box itself is actually quite tiny, but that is part of what makes it so adorable!

I simply used a binder clip to keep it closed, and attached a small tag to it using the silver elastic cord from Stampin Up.

Here is another fun little box of my own creation. I will sharing the tutorial for this shortly, well I hope shortly. This week started out so quiet and has ended up being terribly busy.

Here it is with the end open so you can see how to get the treats inside.

I hope you enjoyed these cute boxes.

Thanks,

Birthday Cards

Just making some birthday cards and thought I would share them. This one uses the new bird and branch punch from Stampin Up. I love this punch! I embossed the background with swiss dots and then sanded them off a bit.

I added a small gem to the bird for it's eye. and tucked it behind the branch a bit for dimension, the bird, itself is on a dimensional.

I love how this one turned out! Do you see that big flower, I made my own felt flower. I simply bought some felt and die cut it with my big shot. I will be doing a fun tutorial on that so you can all see how simple it is and begin making your own felt wonders.

I added a craft button tied with some twine for the flower center.

This one is super simple, I punched a border along the lower edge but did not run it all the way to the edges. I stamper the cupcake and used glossy accents and stickles to add some dimension to it.

Of course you have to have a masculine card, so I made this one. I was given some vintage music paper and used a small piece for the matt layer, tearing the edges. Then used four curly label punches to form a square. Punched some circle presents and popped them up.
I hope you enjoy these. I have some fun Valentine projects on the way. Just finishing up my year end stuff.
Thanks,

Christmas Craft Visitors

I had some visitors to my craft room over the Christmas break. I thought I would just let them choose something from my display items to make, they each chose something different. Asia(hope this is spelled right) made a carousel trinket box. She did a fabulous job. At first her choice of colors had me concerned as I was not sure I had any paper to match the colors she wished to work with but SU had some retired paper that worked perfectly.

This guy took some time to find just the right project for him, but once he did he moved along quite quickly. Kade(again not sure of the spelling) chose a Friendship box. We used the instructions found at the link posted here. I personally had not made one before as was a little hesitant about doing this project but it was a fun project to do. I had one on display as I was supposed to do one in a class but for some reason missed the class and the instructor completed mine for me.

My last guest made and accordion fold album. Tia(spelling?), I think, found the project a bit long but she stuck it out and completed her project, complete with a stamped and colored image of Tinker Bell on the cover. The inside had pockets with tags for each page. It has a ribbon closure.
I hope they enjoyed their day in my craft room as much as I enjoyed having them there. I was very impressed at how skilled they were. They did not need much help from me. I could tell them what was next and they had no trouble completing the task.
When they arrived they came bearing gifts. They brought me a delicious Cinnamon bun roll that was the size of a pie plate. It did not take long for that to disappear, although since it's disappearance, I have noticed my pant have gotten a bit tighter, hmmm!
Thanks,
