It's My Blog-a-versary!

Wow, it has been a whole year since I started this blog and I have a milestone recently reached just a day or so a go - 25 000 hits. Thank you to everyone who checks out my blog, to all those who generously leave comments as they are ALWAYS appreciated, and thanks to my devoted followers.

I look forward to another great year of Dreaming, Creating and Sharing with you. My goal for this next year will be to have more tutorials, as I know I love those the best on other blogs and know, as well, from your comments, that tutorials are something you enjoy as well. Some will be free and some will be for a small fee. Whatever the new year here brings, I am sure it will be fun and creative.

To celebrate I will be offering some free goodies, but I am in the middle of three large class preparations (June 3rd, 6th and 10th) and preparing the trinket box tutorial (should be ready for June 12th) . So I will have to post the goods after that.

Carousel Trinket Box

I could not wait any longer to show you this project. I am so pleased at how it turned out, and know you will enjoy making this project for yourselves.

Well, I only had one guess on what my mystery class was but she was as close as guessing could get ....it is a trinket box. A carousel trinket box. This adorable trinket holder spins! I have the tutorial half finished for anyone anxiously awaiting for it.

Here you can slightly see how it is on a swivel base. You are not gonna believe how this is made.

Same Old, New Again

I posted a new version of this tag scrapbook on Splitcoast Stampers and had a comment that Stampin Up recently had the idea for it. Well To be honest I don't know where the original idea came from but found the one I made in 2007 when Spring Flowers DS paper was current. I am posting my tag scrapbook picture now from that project. It is not exactly the same but very similar. Whoever came up with the original idea, it is so fun and easy. I love when something old can be made new again, don't you?

DS Paper Mini Pocket Scrapbook

Finished this little cutie today, had most of it done about a week ago, but needed a final touch. The base is made with one sheet of DS paper folded in half and then folded accordion fold into four sections. The cover section has a piece of Pink Piroutte embossed and matted onto chocolate chip cardstock and then trimmed with primas and leaves die cuts.

This is what the inside looks like with the pockets made in each section by folding the paper in various ways or in the case of the second pocket simply punching out a half circle. Each section also has some embellishments to dress it up. I am so going to miss this DS paper when it retires.I will have to stock up on it for sure. I am so glad there is a sale on DS paper this month so I can stock up and save at the same time.

The first tag pulls out from the side and is on Riding Hood Red cardstock with Pink Pirouette accents. The stamped images are in Chocolate chip ink. Below is the back of the first tag and I have included place for journalling here.

The second tag pull out from the top. It also has a place for journalling on the back.

The third tag is cute because I used the top note die, but also because I found a retired stamp that looks very similar to the leaves die . It really helps pull the imagery together throughout this mini scrapbook.

And of course a spot for journalling on the back of this tag. It appears as though the top note has been wrapped around the tag, but it has not. I actually had two scrap pieces from a previous project and put one on the front and the other on the back.

This was such a fun little project and is a great way to use of those bits of left over paper that builds up quickly.

My Mother's Day card

Here is a card my oldest daughter made for me for Mother's Day this year. This was made by my daughter who also created the Rustic Star Tutorial. She is so talented. (can you tell I am her mother?)Inside the card were four coupons for various things like free babysitting...

I love her color choices Baja Breeze, Chocolate chip and kraft, and the stamps she used. The metal ring is actually a juice can lid...how creative is that?

My other children got me a lovely bouquet of daisies-which happen to be my favorite flowers.

Sneak Peak!

As promised here is my sneak peak....can you guess what it is? I can hardly wait to get the tutorial ready to share. Some of you may have an idea. If you think you know try guessing, would love to know if anyone can figure it out.

Let's get Organized!

How is this for organized? (sorry for the picture color quality- not sure what happened, but it is the same item in all the pictures) This handy little storage unit has a section with dividers that can hold recipes, coupons or whatever works for you. Then there is a removable pocket book with sections that you can take with you when you head to the grocery store.

I am so excited at how it turned out. The holder fits nicely onto your counter in your kitchen. You can keep you recipes for the week in it and plan your grocery shopping from it, and or you can keep coupons in and when you go shopping place the ones you need in the pocket book to take to the store with you. As you see in the first picture, the pocket book also fits into the counter holder. I think I am going to be adding one or two more items to this class. An altered notepad and possibly a pen for a grocery list or to do list that will also fit in the carrier. How convenient will that all be for shopping?

Here is the carrier closed. It had an elastic closure that keeps everything all secure and tidy.

Here is the inside of the coupon carrier. It has three sections for your convenience. The note pad could easily be kept in one of the sections. Coupons in another and money or to do list in the other. Don't you just love being organized?

I have another class ready too....it is even more exciting than this one. I will give a sneak peak tomorrow. This one will be a class available online as well. I have all the pictures ready to go, just need to get them into a PDF file.

Old Planner , A New Look!

Do you remember this planner? This was my Christmas planner as you can see here. I was asked to make one in spiring colors and this was the result. I love custom orders! The request was for green and orange....and I had DS paper that worked.

Here is the front. It is put together the same way my Christmas planner was but this one can be used for whatever, anytime of the year.

Here is the first inside section with two pull out meno pads.

And here is the next two sections with one more pull out meno pad and a envelope for receipts or coupons or whatever else you can think of.

Design A Card

My next class, Design a Card! This class includes a sectional box to store your card bases and the assortment of saying in so you will always have a card when you need one. This box includes 6 cards, and 12 greetings, and 12 scallop oval matts for the sayings, giving you the ability to create a fun new card every time you need one. We will be using the Good Morning Sunshine DS paper, but this will be a good template for any of the DS papers.

Here you can see the inside of the box. This will be a fun and quick class. Let the fun begin!

GRAD book

This was a custom order but will also be class for June, just in time for graduation. Class participants will be able to choose school colors, and a few other personalizations for this book. The school's colors for the book were black and orange...but the book does not look like a Halloween theme at all...whew!

A small envelope is just inside the front page so the giver can include a personal note or a monetary gift as well. I love making word books. They are so fun!

On this page I created a handmade tassel, perfect for a graduation book. The tassel will match the school colors.
